Civil Society Nominations for Climate Summit 2014 Close August 15
August 14, 2014
At the request of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Climate Change Support Team (CCST), the UN Non-Governmental Liaison Service (UN-NGLS) is conducting an open process to obtain nominations for civil society speakers and attendees for the Secretary-General’s 2014 Climate Summit, which will take place on 23 September at UN Headquarters in New York.
“We need rapid, transformative change for a cleaner, healthier, more prosperous tomorrow. I have invited government, business, finance and civil society leaders to a Climate Summit at the United Nations on 23 September to show what they are doing and to inspire each other to do more. I am encouraged by what I see. But we need more action and greater ambition. I urge everyone to voice their opinions on this defining issue and play a role in building a sustainable future for all,” the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said.
